Even if your app doesn't have push notifications enabled at the moment, a push notification key is still necessary. This also allows you to easily enable push notifications later on if you so choose.

Open the Apple developer page for keys.

Click the plus button.

Click the plus button.

Enter as the key's name.

Tick the "Apple Push Notifications service (APNs)" checkbox, but don't tick any other checkboxes.

Click the 'Continue' button at the top right.

Click the 'Register' button at the top right.

The key id highlighted in a screenshot.

You should now see something like the above screenshot. I've highlighted the key ID in it.

Enter your key ID here:

Click the "Download" button at the top right and upload the downloaded file here. The file name should be something like AuthKey_ABCDE12345.p8

The file upload limit is 100MB.

Make sure to click this button, otherwise we won't receive the entered information and you will need to do the steps again.

Hi, I'm Jan! I created webtoapp.design in 2019 while studying computer science in university. A lot has changed since then - not only have I graduated, but it's also no longer just me running webtoapp.design. We've grown to a global, fully remote team and have gathered lots of experience around app development and app publishing. We've created and published hundreds of apps in the app stores, where they've been downloaded millions of times.
